ROOMS: a rock romance, a romantic musical set in the vibrant early days of the punk rock movement that receives its West Coast Premiere January 27 - March 4 at Chance Theater in Anaheim Hills. This new musical has music and lyrics by Paul Scott Goodman, with a book by Miriam Goodman.

ROOMS: a rock romance is directed by Patrick Pearson. Honorary Associate Producer for this production is Mary Kay Fyda-Mar.

She longs to see every room in the world, he longs to stay in his. ROOMS: a rock romance begins in late 1970’s Glasgow where Monica, an ambitious singer/songwriter meets Ian, a reclusive rocker. The two quickly become entangled creatively and romantically. Their music takes them first to London and ultimately to New York City, where they discover the vibrant new music scene and create an intimate partnership, their love deepening while their personalities drive them apart.

ROOMS was first produced in 2008 as a Co-Production between Metro Stage Theatre in Alexandria, VA and at the Geva Theatre Center in Rochester, New York.  The run in DC received 5 Helen Hayes Nominations (including Outstanding new Play or Musical). It then played the Geva Theatre in Rochester, New York. Since then, it has been nominated for three Outer Critics Circle Awards including Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical, Outstanding New Score, and Outstanding Actress in a Musical. The Original Off-Broadway Cast Album was released on Time Life Music in February 2010.

Recently winning the Ovation Award for Best Musical (intimate theatre) for its Southern California premiere of Jerry Springer: The Opera, and two Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards, Chance Theater is proud to be one of the leading ensemble-based contemporary theatre companies in Southern California. Twice named “Outstanding Arts Organization” by Arts Orange County, Chance Theater is also a recipient of the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle’s Polly Warfield Award for Excellence. Founded in 1999, Chance Theater is focused on its goal of being Orange County's premiere mid-size contemporary ensemble theater.
