2Cents Theatre to Bring NILBOG: THE UNAUTHORIZED MUSICAL PARODY OF TROLL 2 to Hollywood Fringe

2Cents Theatre is thrilled to present the West Coast Premiere of NILBOG: The Unauthorized Musical Parody of Troll 2, music by Juan Lozano and lyrics by Tiffany Acosta, Kristen Boule, Kate Bowman. NILBOG: The Unauthorized Musical Parody of Troll 2 will open Saturday, June 4 at the THREE CLUBS, 1123 Vine Street in Hollywood as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival.

Welcome to NILBOG! (That's GOBLIN spelled backwards.) Troll 2, the BEST worst movie ever, is now a live interactive musical! Cut to 1980's middle America, a typical family of four takes a vacation to a quiet half empty town called... Nilbog. But it turns out this town is the land of the goblins! Filled with campy musical thrills and adventure. And the best part, there are no trolls... anywhere. Featuring a killer original soundtrack including We're All Vegetarians in Nilbog, You Can't Piss on Hospitality and Damn You Stonehenge, this wild new Best Worst Musical will have you screaming, OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!

TIFFANY ASTA (Lyrics & Book) is thrilled to be part of the writing team for Nilbog the Musical! I can't believe a kooky idea Kate and I had one night at a 2cents meeting is becoming a reality and that I get to play one of my favorite whiny little boys on stage! Thanks to my husband and 2cents family for supporting my wacky endeavors! In the Fall, I will be entering the graduate program for Theatre Criticism and Dramaturgy at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London.

KRISTEN BOULE (Lyrics & Book) produces annually 2Cents' Acting Out INK Fest, a 3-day Festival presenting 20 fully produced plays all written by female playwrights. "Nilbog the Musical" is Boule's 2nd feature length writing endeavor, the first being her own "Dreams in Variation" (world premiere 2012). With 2Cents, now entering their fourth season, she hopes to continue to develop a unique community for artists with constant opportunity to create and explore. Kate Bowman (Lyrics & Book) is new to writing, but is thrilled to be a part of this highly creative team and project. She is a co-founder of 2Cents Theatre Group, and serves as the Vice President of Creative Affairs on the Board of Directors. As an actress, her favorite past roles include Chrissy in "In the Boom Boom Room", Catherine in "Proof", Cathy in "The Last Five Years", Maggie in the World Premiere of "Games Poets Play", Alysha in "Fugitive Songs", and Joanne in "RENT". You can also catch Kate in HFF 2016 as Creedence in "Nilbog: The Musical", as well as Kristi in "Porno Dido" and one of the principal performers in "Mad Lib: The Musical". JUAN LOZANO (Music) started off his musical career when his mother forced him to take piano lessons at the age of 9. To spite her he joined the elementary school band and picked the trombone. Through the years he joined the Concert, Jazz, and Marching Band. It wasn't until College that he had the opportunity to meld his love of acting and a lifetime of music when he auditioned for a role in A Chorus Line. Within a few years he was a student of A.M.D.A. in New York. Yes he graduated. Many moons later his genius has finally been tested against a backdrop of poor taste and non sequiturs that is Goblin 2...Troll 2! Happy Fringe everyone!

NILBOG will open at the Hollywood Fringe Festival on Saturday, June 4 at 7pm at the Three Clubs, 1123 Vine St. in Hollywood. Performance schedule: June 4 @ 7:00pm; June 9 @ 9:30pm; June 13 @ 9:30pm; June 23 @ 11:30pm; and June 25 @ 4:00pm. Ticket prices are $15.00 for all performances. NILBOG will be a completely immersive theatrical experience featuring a live pianist, costume contests, a live interactive drinking game, specialty cocktail "Nilbog Nog", special guest appearances, and so much more!

2Cents Theatre Group was founded in 2012 by Kristen Boule? (Artistic Director), Kate Bowman (VP of Creative Affairs), Tiffany Roberts (Literary Director), Cody Lyman (Secretary), Lisette Azar, and Marlio Sterling (Exec Board), all artists with varied areas of discipline, who shared a passion for great ART. 2Cents mission is to inspire audiences with great storytelling injected with their own 2Cents, making their ART fearlessly unique. INK Fest, involving over 100 actors, directors and other artists, and inspired by 2Cents non-profit partnership with LA Women's Theatre Project, is an annual event continuing to honor female writers. 2Cents is also continuing to expand its outreach program. Most recently, they paired with supportive housing organizations PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) and Skid Row Housing for multiple Christmas Caroling appearances over the Holiday Season, and spent time with KidWorks in the South Bay, holding theatre workshops for underprivileged kids. In 2013 they performed at an AIDS Benefit with Being Alive in West Hollywood, and participated in "Relay for Life; an American Cancer Society Relay Event in Venice, CA.
