THEATRE LAWRENCE proudly announces the lineup for its 35th season of shows.

The season will kickoff in September with Forbidden Broadway, created and written by Gerard Alessandrini. In this long-running hit musical revue, Broadway's greatest musical legends meet Broadway's greatest satirist in this hilarious, loving, and endlessly entertaining tribute to some of the theatre's greatest stars and songwriters.

The Theatre's holiday musical will be White Christmas with music by Irving Berlin and book by David Ives and Paul Blake. Based on the beloved, timeless film, this heartwarming musical adaptation features seventeen Irving Berlin songs. World War II Army vets with romance on their minds find themselves in a lodge owned by their former commander. The dazzling score features Blue Skies, I Love A Piano, How Deep Is the Ocean and the perennial favorite, White Christmas.

Three plays will follow in January, February and April.
Bloody Murder is a comedy by Ed Sala. Characters in a British murder mystery rebel against their author in this comedic spoof of the classic Agatha Christie murder mystery filled with gun shots, poison, knives, hidden identities and dead bodies.

Becky's New Car, a comedy by Steven Dietz
Becky Foster is caught in middle age, middle management and in a middling marriage-with no prospects for change on the horizon. Then one night a socially inept and grief-stricken millionaire stumbles into the car dealership where Becky works. Becky is offered nothing short of a new life...and the audience is offered a chance to ride shotgun!

Steel Magnolias, a comedy/drama by Steven Harling
Welcome to Truvy's beauty salon, where all the ladies who are "anybody" come to have their hair done. Filled with hilarious and revealing verbal collisions, the play blends comedy and tragedy while drawing on the underlying strength-and love-of ladies who are touching, funny and amiable company in good times and bad.

The season finale will be Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, by Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice. The Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors comes to vibrant life in this delightful musical parable. Set to an engaging mix of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless.

Season ticket sales will begin in May.
