On the evening on November 12, 2011, Kansas Citians piled in to see Tony-Award Winner Idina Menzel (RENT, WICKED, AIDA) sing with the Kansas City Symphony. The evening began with a thrilling rendition of "The Life of the Party" from the Andrew Lippa musical, THE WILD PARTY in which Menzel appeared Off Broadway in 2000.  Ms. Menzel welcomed the crowd to her concert and carried on with her tunes.

Her setlist for the night  was made up of "The Life of the Party", "I'm Not that Girl", "Defying Gravity", and a thrilling acapella and microphone free "For Good" from the hit WICKED, Cole Porter's "Love For Sale", "Funny Girl" and "Don't Rain On My Parade" from FUNNY GIRL, Jim Webb's "Asleep on the Wind", "No Day But Today" from RENT, Lady Gaga's "Poker Face", "Look To The Rainbow" from FINIAN'S RAINBOW, The original tune "GOOD MORNING, WALKER" and "Tomorrow" from ANNIE.

In between songs Menzel told hilarious life stories (Such as the crush on her gay professor and being upstaged by Beyonce at Barbra Streisand's Kennedy Center Honor) and marveled at the brand new Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.

Overall, the concert was filled with high quality songs and vocals. Ms. Menzel is a natural entertainer and is a spectacular evening out.
