Nomad, the network of venues who over the past 4 years have brought awarded winning and critically acclaimed high-quality theatre productions to the North Midlands, are returning this autumn with Conor McPherson's The Seafarer. Roscommon audiences will be very familiar with the Nomad network - of which Roscommon Arts Centre is a founding member - who have produced The Dead School, Conversations on a Homecoming and Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme in recent years. This year, Nomad is delighted to announce a brand new working relationship with Galway-based theatre company Decadent, and director Andrew Flynn. The Seafarer will be performed by a stellar cast including the magnificent Frankie McCafferty and Robert O'Mahoney in Roscommon Arts Centre from Monday 14th - Wednesday 16th November.

The Seafarer has wowed audiences' internationally winning Oliver and Tony awards and voted one of the top plays of the last decade in the Sunday Times Critics Choice. This funny, moving and chilling play is returning to Ireland for in an exciting new production by the award winning Nomad Theatre Network and Decadent Theatre. It's Christmas Eve and Sharky has returned to Dublin to look after his irascible, ageing brother who's recently gone blind. Old drinking buddies Ivan and Nicky are holed up at the house too, hoping to play some cards. With the arrival of a stranger from the distant past, the stakes are raised ever higher. In fact, Sharky may be playing for his very soul... Tickets for this exciting new production will go on sale from Tuesday 2nd August and will be available through Roscommon Arts Centre's box office on 090 6625824.
