Houston Family Arts Center Seeks Performers to Compete in THE H-FACtor

The Houston Family Arts Center is sending out the call for talented performers to strut their stuff and audition for The H-FACtor competition and fundraiser. We are looking for diverse acts to bring their best to our award-winning theatre in order to raise money for a new sign. A panel of local celebrities will serve as judges and award the top act with a prize of $350.

Auditions will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 10 am - 4 pm at the Houston Family Arts Center's Garza Mainstage. Acts selected to perform in the event will pay a $50 performance fee for single-person pieces, or $85 for multi-person acts. Money raised from ticket sales and performance fees will go toward the fundraising goal and cash prizes.

The auditions are open to the community. We are looking for all ages and types of performers. All acts must be family friendly. Performers are allowed to submit up to two acts for selection. The performed pieces must be no longer than 4 minutes, and fit in the space of a 30' × 9' area. If additional space is needed for your act, please make a note in the comments when registering for your audition. Two technical rehearsals will be required of the selected acts before the performances.

If you are unable to attend the audition, submit a Vimeo or YouTube video audition before July 18th, along with a completed audition form, bio, and photo to julesmontgo@gmail.com. The H-FACtor will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 7:30pm on HFAC's Garza Mainstage. A second night will be added on Tuesday, August 11th if enough acts are selected. Some acts may be asked to perform both nights. The selected acts will be posted on the Houston Family Arts Center website by Tuesday, July 24th.
