Gabrielle Ruiz to Bring SEX, LOVE & SALSA to Rio Grande Valley in January 2014

Edinburg native and Broadway veteran Gabrielle Ruiz (In The Heights, Evita, 42nd Street) brings her film debut to the Rio Grande Valley the first week of January 2014.

Sex, Love and Salsa a new film by Director and Screenwriter Adrian Manzano will play the Rio Grande Valley starting on Thursday, January 2, 2013 at the McAllen Public Library. The film's standout supporting Actor, an Edinburg, Texas native and Broadway Actor, Gabrielle Ruiz will hold an opening night reception on the same date starting at 5:30p with a public viewing of the film at 6:30p. The Director, Producers and Ms. Ruiz are scheduled to be in attendance for a intimate talk-back afterwards.

Genny (Sofia Rodriguez), Ingrid (Susan Quinn) and Maria (Ms. Ruiz) all have caught Julian Suarez's (Mr. Manzano) eye. The womanizing salsa dancer cannot settle for one, that is until he meets his match with Maria. It isn't until Julian gets the news of Ingrid's pregnancy, a swift lesson from Genny's big brother and a confident, professional Maria he comes to the realization women are more than sexual adventures or a challenge to be reckoned with.

This mockumentary and award winning 2013 film debuted at the Queens World Film Festival (New York) gaining it a nomination then was swiftly Officially Selected by the Chicago Latino Film Festival. Winning the Audience Award at the Harlem International Film Festival, Best Feature Film at the Reel Independent Film Extravaganza and also garnering nods from others for Actors Mr. Manzano, and Ms. Ruiz.
