Stagecrafters announced its 2014 - 2015 lineup which they have deemed "a season of transformations" at an open house and preview presentation on Sunday, March 9 at the Baldwin Theatre. This will be Stagecrafters 58th year of presenting entertainment and their 29th year in the Baldwin Theatre, 415 S. Lafayette Ave., in downtown Royal Oak.

The new season lineup was announced by Stagecrafters' production vice president Randall Wrisinger to an audience of more than 120 people. Prior to the season announcement Wrisinger and executive director Mary Ann McCourt welcomed Sen. John Pappageorge (R-Troy) to the stage where he thanked Stagecrafters for their continued commitment to providing entertainment to the community.

Stagecrafters' board president, Betsey Schrock remarked about the season, "We are so pleased to present our season of transformations! Whether it's thrilling characters such as Dr. Jekyll transforming onstage to the evil Mr. Hyde (Jekyll and Hyde the Musical)... the naive guttersnipe Eliza Doolittle transforming into the beautiful and well-mannered lady (My Fair Lady)...or a young boy whose world transforms from the painful real world to a wonderful fantasyland (The Neverending Story)...our audiences can leave behind reality and enjoy a season of transformations."

In keeping with the season theme, the Baldwin Theatre will undergo a physical change as the aging orchestra pit will be renovated with the aid of $24,000 grant funding awarded by the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs. "We are very excited to present another season of professional community theatre to our subscribers and patrons. It will truly be a season of transformation as we begin the orchestra pit renovation in June. The expansion will allow for larger orchestras and even more accomplished, polished performances at the historic Baldwin Theatre," says McCourt.
