A violent tempest rages while occupants of a storm-weary boat debate their forthcoming fate. When a member of the crew suggests that a woman hiding aboard has angered King Neptune, causing him to create such a storm, the passengers begin to question each other, themselves, and the roles they play in society. Taking characters from Shakespeare's The Merchant Of Venice, As You Like It, and Twelfth Night, Good Men And True is an original Shakespearean play by Detroit playwrights Marty Shea and Ian Bonner. Under the direction of Sara Catheryn Wolf (St. Clair Shores), this production features Jaclynn Cherry (Rochester Hills), DeAnnah Kleitz-Singleton (Hamtramck), Kez Settle (Detroit), and Jackie Strez (Dearborn) with stage management by Nicholas Pobutsky (Detroit). Good Men And True premieres at Planet Ant Friday March 6 and continues through March 28 with performances Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00pm and 2:00pm Sunday matinees on March 15 and 22. Throughout this season on select Saturday evenings, Planet Ant will present a late night show featuring a rotating schedule of improvisation. Tickets are $5 at the door.
The Planet Ant Improv Colony has generated over twenty original comedies and continues to perform every Monday night in Michigan's longest-running improv comedy show - Improv Mondays. At 8:00 pm the show kicks off with a guest improv troupe followed by a performance by Planet Ant's resident Home Team. The night closes with The Ant Jam, an opportunity for anyone to improvise on the Planet Ant stage. Tickets are $5 at the door.Videos
