Famed novelist and screenwriter Elmore Leonard will visit Oakland University for an evening of stories and discussion on Wednesday, Nov. 28. Leonard Will be joined by his son, Peter – also a novelist – for an entertaining look at "The Family Business," which includes all the novels, screenplays and television scripts they have written and their experiences with Hollywood.

Hailed as the greatest American crime writer of all time, Elmore Leonard is the author of more than 40 novels, including "Get Shorty," "Out of Sight" and "Killshot," which were adapted into major motion pictures with star-studded casts. His short story "Fire in the Hole" is the inspiration behind the hit TV series "Justified," which premiered in 2010.

Earlier this month, Leonard received the National Book Foundation's Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters, an honor given to luminaries such as Ray Bradbury, John Updike, Toni Morrison and Arthur Miller.

Sponsored by the Creative Writing Program in Oakland's Department of English, this event will be held at Meadow Brook Theatre, located in 207 Wilson Hall on Oakland's campus. For interactive and printable maps of the OU campus, visit oakland.edu/map.
