36 QUESTIONS (or "THE EXPERIMENTAL GENERATION OF INTERPERSONAL CLOSENESS") Makes Its World Premiere at the Lake Effect Fringe Festival

In the early 90's, a team of psychologists attempted to create real love in a laboratory setting - and succeeded. In "36 Questions (or "The Experimental Generation of Interpersonal Closeness")", two college seniors, Cat and Dan, attempt to replicate the experiment on themselves. Over the course of an evening, these two unlikely lovers gradually, reluctantly, and grudgingly, begin to open themselves to each other, learning some undeniable truths about themselves in the process.

This world premiere of an original play by Cassandra Chance will take place on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Dog Story Theater at 8:00 pm. Exploring the theme of love in many forms, "36 Questions (or "The Experimental Generation of Interpersonal Closeness")", is based upon the scientific study titled "The Experimental Generation of Interpersonal Closeness: A Procedure and Some Preliminary Findings" by Arthur Aron, in which a feeling of closeness is created between two individuals through the use of a set of 36 questions which steadily increase in intimacy, and was brought to the mainstream media by Mandy Len Catron's New York Times' Modern Love essay, "To Fall in Love With Anyone, Do This."

"36 Questions (or "The Experimental Generation of Interpersonal Closeness")" is produced by Blue Star Players as part of the Lake Effect Fringe Festival at Dog Story Theater (7 Jefferson Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI).
