Fells Point Corner Theatre presents THREE TALL WOMEN by Edward Albee

Directed by Richard Barber

Earning a Pulitzer and three Best Play awards for 1994, Edward Albee has, in Three Tall Women, created a masterwork of modern theatre. As an imperious, acerbic old woman lies dying, she is tended by two other women and visited by a young man. Albee's frank dialogue about everything from incontinence to infidelity portrays aging without sentimentality. His scenes are charged with the most amazing wit, pain and laughter. His probing portrait of the three women reveals Albee's genius. These "tall women" lay bare the truths of our lives: how we live, how we love, what we settle for, and how we die.

Three Tall Women is directed by Richard Barber, who made his FPCT directing debut in April, directing The Coaching Session and Thin Air for 10X10, which was a series of 10 ten-minute plays selected from playwrights across the country. Prior to 10X10, Barber has acted and directed in venues such as Pittsburgh City Theatre, Pittsburgh Irish & Classical Theatre and the Minnesota Fringe Festival. He also directed Shakespeare's As You Like It at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China. Featured in the cast are Helenmary Ball, Kate Shoemaker, and Cherie Weinert.
"A dazzler...Worthy of mention in the same breath as Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and A Delicate Balance. THREE TALL WOMEN blazes as bright as a midsummer day. Electrifying and heartrending, each of Albee's women is memorable..."
