Broadway Workshop, Manhattan's fastest growing acting program for young artists, now celebrating their 5th year, has announced their 2013 summer camp and summer intensive schedule.

Each summer, Broadway Workshop brings some of the most exciting programs to New York City and beyond. Broadway Workshop's goal is to provide opportunities for young actors to work with major theatre professionals, take part in specialized master classes, see Broadway productions, and gain skills in every area of the performing arts. Broadway Workshop's programs take place in New York City and on tour in Vermont, Kentucky, and Michigan.

Each summer, Broadway Workshop teams up with Project Broadway, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that offers scholarships to students in financial need.

The Children's Musical Theater Festival (CMTF)

Saturday, July 13 - Sunday, July 21, 2013

Ages 9-18

The Children's Musical Theater Festival is a 10-day performance based theater program. Students cast in the Festival will have the opportunity to originate roles in new musical works by up-and-coming theater writers. Students are split into two groups based on age and each group will perform two performances of their show at New York Live Arts in Chelsea. This program is by audition only, live auditions take place in Manhattan in March and video submissions can be mailed in until April. More CMTF information can be found at www.CMTFnyc.com.

Junior Excel Intensive

Monday, July 29 - Friday, August 2, 2013

Ages 9-13

New for 2013! Broadway Workshop's Junior Excel Intensive is a 5-day program geared toward student's ages 9-13 with an extremely strong passion for the performing arts. Junior Excel students will study the 3 disciplines of musical theatre in small groups. Students will prepare solo and small group pieces in preparation for our end of program production, where they will perform for a panel of New York agents, mangers and casting directors, as well as family and friends. Excel Teen Intensive

Monday, August 12 - Friday, August 16, 2013

Ages 14-18

Broadway Workshop's Excel Teen Intensive is a 5-day summer program geared toward older students with a strong passion for the performing arts. While every Excel student will study the 3 disciplines of musical theatre, this program allows students to choose a major; Acting, Voice or Dance. In addition to their core classes, Excel students will take master classes with New York's top Casting Directors, Broadway Actors, Musical Directors and Choreographers. Students will prepare solo and small group pieces in preparation for our end of program production, where they will perform for a panel of New York agents, mangers and casting directors, as well as family and friends. Camp NYC

Monday August 19 - Friday August 23, 2013

Ages 9-13

Camp NYC allows young actors of all skill levels the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Broadway. This program brings the best theatrical workshops and master classes directly to our students. Campers will take part in classes taught by Broadway's biggest stars and focused in every area of performance from Shakespeare to Stage Combat. Camp Kentucky

Monday June 3 - Friday June 7, 2013

Ages 9-18

Broadway Workshop comes to the Carson Center for the second year! Camp Kentucky is a five day Musical Theatre Camp in Paducah, KY. Learn from Broadway Workshop's acclaimed staff from New York City, as well as other special guests from the Kentucky theater scene.

Camp Vermont

Monday July 8 - Friday July 12, 2013

Ages 9-16

Broadway Workshop is back for their sixth year at Saint Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont. Campers will take center stage performing in 2 different hit Broadway musicals medleys specifically arranged for Camp Vermont. In between rehearsals, campers will participate in theatrical workshops taught by special guest teachers.

Camp Detroit

Monday August 5 - Friday August 9, 2013

Ages 9-18

For the first time Broadway Workshop will bring their five day program to the Mosaic Youth Theatre in Detroit, Michigan. Students will work with Broadway Workshops acclaimed staff on various performing techniques in preparation for the end of week student showcase. In between rehearsals, campers will participate in theatrical workshops taught by special guest teachers.
