Des Moines Performing Arts today announced that Jeff Chelesvig, the organization's president and CEO, was re-elected to The Broadway League's Board of Governors and Executive Committee. In both appointments, Chelesvig will help The Broadway League achieve its mission to foster increased interest in Broadway, as well as support the creation of profitable theatrical productions.

"Jeff Chelesvig has successfully presented our Broadway tours for over 18 years, and his consistent presence and eager participation in multiple committees makes him one of our most active members," said Charlotte St. Martin, The Broadway League's Executive Director. "He has previously served six years on the Broadway League's Board of Governors, and we are happy to have him back on the Board for at least the next two years to continue the outstanding leadership he has provided not only in Des Moines, but for our entire presenting industry."

In addition to being a member of The Broadway League, Chelesvig - who will soon celebrate his 19th anniversary with Des Moines Performing Arts - is also Iowa's only voter for the Tony Awards® and is a member of the Independent Presenters Network. Chelesvig previously served three terms on The Broadway League's Board of Governors starting in 2006 and this will be his third consecutive term on the Executive Committee.

As the national trade association for the Broadway industry, The Broadway League represents theater owners and operators, producers, managers, and presenters of Broadway productions in over 150 cities and 250 venues throughout the United States and Canada.
