Rocketship Presents DARK AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL 3/9

Rocketship Productions, presents the Southwest premiere of its newest play Dark at the End of the Tunnel this March at The Stone Cottage at Watertower Theatre: Created by Paden Fallis and directed by Chuck Hudson, Dark at the End of the Tunnel will begin performances on Wednesday, March 9th @ 7:30pm. It will also run Thursday, March 10th @ 7:30 pm and Saturday, March 12th @ 2:00pm.

Dark at the End of the Tunnel enacts the story of a blind man who wakes up on a bridge and fears he might have beaten a man to death the night before. Searching for answers, he relives his magical childhood, his journey from sighted to blind, his relationship with the woman he loves and his fascination with the legacy of General Curtis LeMay. Fearing he has lost sight of everything that is important, will he come face to face with the violence he committed?

Rocketship Productions looks for Dark at the End of the Tunnel to follow the success of its previous entry into Out of the Loop, The Play About The Coach. In 2009, The Play About The Coach played to rave reviews. The Dallas Morning News claimed the show was a "winner" and Theatre Jones raved "you don't have to be a basketball fan to be swept up in the action." The Play About The Coach went on to win Top Touring Production from the Dallas Ft Worth Theatre Critics Association for the 2008/09 Season.

Dark at the End of the Tunnel was developed in residency with The Field in New York early 2010. It received a premiere performance at The Kitchen in March and then enjoyed a preview run at The Tank in May.

CAST/CREW INFORMATION:

Paden Fallis (actor/playwright) is founder and artistic director of the New York based theatre company, Rocketship Productions. With Rocketship, Paden produced and starred in the New York premiere of Morris Panych's 7 Stories, Oliver Hailey's Kith and Kin and the world premiere of Nelson Lee's Hardly. Other New York theatre credits: The Phantom Lady (Pearl Theatre), The Master Builder (The Century Theatre), Outlaws (The John Houseman Theatre),any-body (First Look Theatre Co.), and A Lie of the Mind (Mary MacArthur Theatre). Regional: Almost, Maine andLove Song (Chester Theatre), Amphytrion (Theatre Three). Paden has also worked with the LAByrinth Theatre Company and has been seen at Stand Up New York and the People's Improv Theatre.

As a playwright, Paden's first play, The Play About The Coach has played at The Tank in New York, at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival and at the Out of the Loop Festival in Dallas, TX. Recently The Coach was awarded the Top Touring Production of the 2008/09 Season by the Dallas Ft. Worth Theatre Critics Association. Chuck Hudson (director) has directed Opera productions at companies including Cape Town Opera (South Africa), Florida Grand Opera, Minnesota, Sacramento, San Francisco Opera Center, and Wolf Trap Opera. He has directed Theatre productions in New York and regionally, including The Chester Theater, Children's Theatre Festival of Houston, New City Theatre, and Chicago's Fox Valley Shakespeare Festival. His 2002 production of SHE STOOPS TO CONQUER at The Pearl Theatre in NYC received a Joe A. Callaway Award from AEA.

In addition to directing professional artists, Chuck continues to focus on his work with artists in training. He is a co-creator of Seattle Opera's Young Artist Program. He has directed productions and instructed Master Classes for singers and actors at various Professional Artist Training Programs including Santa Fe Opera, University of Houston, UNC School of the Arts, IU, CCM, American Vocal Academy, Sarah Lawrence, Boston University, USC, Music Academy of the West, and Manhattan School of Music. Chuck's specialty in Movement Theatre comes from being one of only three Americans to have received a diploma from the Marcel Marceau International School of Mime-drama in Paris. He is the only American to be appointed to teach at Marceau's School, and he performed with Marceau on his 1991 European Tour and in Klaus Kinski's film Paganini. Rocketship Productions is a not-for-profit theatre company in New York City. Founded in 2003, Rocketship is a theatre company that devotes itself to the production of new and under-produced work.
