Each day begins with an invigorating all-camp warm-up. Class time follows, as students join their age groups for two lively hours of interactive instruction in voice, movement, character development and more-led by SCR's staff of theatre professionals. The final hour is spent with special guests who bring to life various aspects of theatre, such as design, improvisation, combat, singing and playwriting-it's something different every day. The two-week program concludes with students sharing their work onstage in a demonstration project for invited family and friends.

TUITION: All classes are $330 per two-week session. To receive a sibling discount, enroll by mail or phone, call 714-708-5577.

August 9-17 - Julianne Argyros Stage - Summer Players (Student Production)

Peter Pan

a musical based on the play by Sir James M. Barrie

lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, music by Morris (Moose) Charlap

additional lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, additional music by Jule Styne

originally directed, choreographed and adapted by Jerome Robbins

directed by Hisa Takakuwa

musical direction by Erin McNally

Late one night, three children wake up to find Peter Pan searching for his shadow-in their nursery! Because they love adventure, off they go-with the boy who refuses to grow up-all the way to Neverland, where they meet the Lost Boys, battle Tiger Lily and her tribe, and escape from pirates led by the dasterdly Captain Hook. Let your imagination fly with them-because soon it will be time for all of us to grow up. This is the 110th anniversary of J.M. Barrie's beloved classic -and the 60th anniversary of the award-winning Broadway musical! We'll sprinkle pixie dust as we celebrate Peter Pan with SCR's Summer Players, a group of talented young actors who audition for roles in this annual summer production after at least a year in the Theatre Conservatory. If you believe in fairies, join us!
