Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro will thrill Live in HD from the Met at The Ridgefield Playhouse today, October 18.

How exhilarating are the operas broadcast Live in HD to The Ridgefield Playhouse, complete with behind-the-scenes tours and commentary by some of the genres' most revered stars. From the Met in New York City comes a new production of Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, which will inspire on Saturday, October 18, at 12:55 p.m. with bass-baritone Ildar Abdrazakov in the title role, opposite Marlis Petersen as his bride. Met Music Director James Levine conducts a spirited new production of Mozart's masterpiece, directed by Richard Eyre, who sets the action of this classic domestic comedy in a 19th-century manor house in Seville, but during the gilded age of the late 1920s. Peter Mattei is the philandering Count they work for, Marina Poplavskaya is the long-suffering Countess, and Isabel Leonard is the libidinous pageboy Cherubino.

To make the day even more special, Bernard's (20 West Lane, Ridgefield) is offering a special $45 prix-fixe menu, or a free glass of wine with dinner the night of this event when tickets are presented; reservations suggested.
