Music Theatre of Connecticut MainStage, Fairfield County's Award-Winning Professional Theatre Company, is pleased to announce the 2013/2014 MainStage Season. Between November 2013 and May 2014, MTC MainStage will present three fully-staged professional productions: "Master Class," "God of Carnage" and "The Fantasticks." Performances will take place in the one-of-a-kind Off-Broadway-style 50-seat studio, providing the audience with an intimate theatregoing experience, and each performance is followed by a complimentary wine and cheese reception. MTC MainStage is located at 246 Post Road East in Colonial Green (Lower Level) in Westport, CT.

"MTC MainStage feels a strong commitment to provide theatre to lifelong fans as well as the next generation," says Artistic Director Kevin Connors. "Last season was such a success with the record-breaking sell-out smash of the musical "Next to Normal," our critically-acclaimed production of A.R. Gurney's "Ancestral Voices" and the delovely tribute to the music of Cole Porter, "Cole." Please join the MTC MainStage family for the three stunning productions of our 2013/2014 Season... we're saving a seat just for you!"

Opening the season and running November 1-17, 2013 is "Master Class," the Tony Award winning play by Terrence McNally, playwright of "Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune" and "Love! Valour! Compassion!" Legendary opera diva Maria Callas takes us to one of her famous master classes, where, late in her own career, she dares the next generation to make the same sacrifices and rise to the same heights that made her the most celebrated, the most reviled and the most controversial singer of her time. She's glamorous, commanding, larger than life-and drop-dead funny.

The second production of the season, running January 31-February 16, 2014, is "God of Carnage," a play by Yasmina Reza and translated by Christopher Hampton. A comedy of manners... without the manners. Two married couples meet to sort out a playground fight between their sons. At first, niceties are observed but as the evening progresses and the rum flows, the gloves come off and the night becomes a side-splitting free-for-all.

The season finale, running April 11-May 4, 2014, is "The Fantasticks," the world's longest-running musical with book by Tom Jones, music by Harvey Schmidt, lyrics by Tom Jones and based on "Les Romanesques" by Edmond Rostand. This funny and romantic musical set in a world of moonlight and magic featuring a famous score, which includes the classics "Try To Remember," "They Were You" and "Soon It's Gonna Rain," is as timeless as the story itself.

MTC MainStage 2013/2014 Season performances take place Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 4pm & 8pm and Sundays at 2pm at MTC MainStage Studio Theatre 246 Post Road East (Colonial Green, Lower Level) in Westport, CT. Season subscriptions, with tickets for all three productions, as well as single tickets for each production, are now on sale.
