Music Theatre of Connecticut MainStage, Fairfield County's award-winning professional theatre company, will be presenting the world premiere benefit reading of "A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play." This new adaptation of the Charles Dickens holiday classic will play two performances only, on Saturday, December 13 at 8pm and Sunday, December 14 at 2pm, at The Melissa & Doug Theatre at The New MTC, 509 Westport Avenue (behind the Jones New York and Nine West Outlet) in Norwalk, CT. Tickets range from $30-$40 ($5 discount for seniors/students) and are available by calling 203.454.3883 or visiting www.musictheatreofct.com

"A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play" is adapted for the stage by Joe Landry, author of "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play," one of the top ten most produced plays in America, with music by Kevin Connors. Charles Dickens' immortal tale comes to life in the form of a 1940s Christmas Eve live broadcast with five actors playing all the colorful characters from the beloved yuletide favorite. Featuring live music and sound effects, "A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play" is a perfect holiday treat for the entire family.

MTC's professional Equity cast includes John Flaherty, who has appeared in the MTC MainStage productions of "God of Carnage," "The Fanstasticks" and others. Cynthia Hannah has appeared at MTC in "Almost, Maine" and in over 100 television commercials. Chilton Ryan has appeared at Long Wharf, Fairfield Theatre Company and is a founding member of the Theatre Artists Workshop. Jim Schilling has appeared in the Moss Hart award-winning production of "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play," and has also been seen on stage at Westport Country Playhouse. Nadine Willig has appeared Off-Broadway in "The Miranda," and in films including "Signs of Life" with Keir Dullea.

"A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play" is directed by MTC co-founder and Executive Artistic Director Kevin Connors, who composed an original musical score for the play. Connors and Landry have previously collaborated on the musical "Mothers and Sons," which debuted at MTC MainStage. All proceeds from the two performances will benefit Music Theatre of Connecticut and its programming.
