Opera Columbus has appointed Peggy Kriha Dye as General Manager of the company. As such, Kriha Dye will oversee all artistic and educational programming as well as main stage productions, and produce Opera Columbus' new Opera Cabaret series.

Also a professional opera singer, Kriha Dye most recently played the title role in Armide with the prestigious Opera Atelier in Toronto's Elgin Theatre, The Royal Opera in Versailles, and the Glimmerglass Festival. Her performance was noted in The New York Times, stating, "Peggy Kriha Dye, a soprano, sang the formidable title role with alluring sound and urgency."

Over the course of her career, she has also performed with the Houston Grand Opera, San Francisco Opera, Washington National Opera, Shanghai Opera, and many others. She has also recently worked on a production of Lucio Silla with the Salzburg Festival.

Kriha Dye holds a BA in music from St. Cloud State University (MN) and a Master's in music from the Manhattan School of Music (NY). She has also trained at The Juilliard Opera Center, apprenticed with the Merola Opera, and been selected as an Adler Fellow with the San Francisco Opera. Kriha Dye has also served as an adjunct professor with Kenyon College.

"We are very fortunate to have someone as talented and experienced as Peggy to lead our organization," stated Charles Warner, Chair of the Opera Columbus board of trustees. "We welcome the enthusiasm and devotion to the art form that she brings to the table and look forward to building on her great success in conducting outreach programs throughout central Ohio."
