The Columbus Association for the Performing Arts (CAPA) issued 2008-09 fiscal year-end results last week at its annual board of trustees meeting. Approved by the board at the meeting, the audit reports an annual operating budget of $9.8 million with a balanced budget and 81% earned income for its Columbus operations.

In conjunction with the annual meeting, CAPA also published its "Annual Report to the Community" which gives an overview of the past year. The report states that more than 515,000 guests came through the doors of CAPA's downtown Columbus theatres in the 2008-09 fiscal year, generating in excess of $50 million in economic impact.

"We are doubly pleased to report both a balanced budget and the addition of the Lincoln Theatre to the CAPA family in the 2008-09 fiscal year," stated CAPA board chair Michael Petrecca. "It was a busy and exciting year for CAPA, and we look forward to continuing our efforts in the next fiscal year."

Re-elected to additional three-year terms were treasurer Luis Alcalde, Carl English, immediate past chair John Finn, Bob Gsanger, Wally O'Dell, Angela Pace, Lynne Parrott, Jay Crane, and Stephen Grassbaugh. Newly elected board members include Judge Julie M. Lynch and Stephanie Green.
