William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night or What You Will is perhaps the greatest of his comedies. It was originally staged in the 16th century as part of a then-traditional Twelfth Night celebration. In director, J.C. Gafford's rendition, the audience members are invited guests to a Shakespearean celebration given by the Mummers, a 19th century traveling acting troupe. You, too, are invited to partake in the revelry of "Twelfth Night," a delightful comedy filled with romance, misunderstandings and cross-dressing!
Great Lakes Theater has unveiled their 2024-25 Season at Hanna Theatre.
Arts Midwest announced the recipients of $1,161,500 in Shakespeare in American Communities grants, with $976,500 going to 41 professional theater companies partnering with schools, and $185,000 going to eight organizations working with students in the juvenile justice system.
Cleveland Play House will bring its 2022-2023 season to a close with the world premiere production of Ken Ludwig's Moriarty: A New Sherlock Holmes Adventure. Running April 29 through May 21 in the Allen Theatre at Playhouse Square.
Cleveland Play House presents its final virtual play for the 2020/21 theatrical season, Blackademics, a dark comedy written by Idris Goodwin. This raucous satire about two college professors navigating success and racism as Black women features Northeast Ohio actors, Mariah Burks, Colleen Longshaw, and Lisa Marie Schueller.
