It's that time of year! The Flat Rock Playhouse will present its annual Dark Night Revue fundraiser, but this time with a twist! This year's theme, inspired by a longtime Vagabond tradition, calls for a re-naming of the event. On August 3, the Supporting Players Guild of Flat Rock Playhouse will present Dark Night Studio!

Dark Night Studio gets its name from the weekly cabaret hosted for everyone in the Flat Rock Playhouse Company, "Midnight Studio." Midnight Studio is a chance for apprentices, Actors Equity Association cast members and those who work behind the scenes to come together and perform fun, exciting and heartfelt songs, dances or anything else they want to share! Each Midnight Studio ends with a reading of poetry by Carl Sandburg referred to as, "A Walk in the Woods." Dark Night Studio is an opportunity for the public to be a part of that special unity that distinguishes Flat Rock Playhouse from so many other theatres while enjoying some great food and helping support the theatre.

"What an honor and thrill it is to chair this annual fundraiser," says Flat Rock Playhouse Supporting Player, Dale Llewelyn. "I say thrill, as I have had the privilege of playing a part in presenting to you, our patrons, our new and exciting Dark Night Studio. We guarantee a production, a glimpse "Backstage," from the moment you arrive at 6:30 until the stage lights dim at 9:45. All while enjoying drinks, dinner by the bite from small plate food stations and our unparalleled silent auction, then into the theatre for our Vagabond "Midnight Studio" inspired Revue and Live Auction."

"I couldn't be more excited about this year's event," says Ashley Pirsig, Director of Development for Flat Rock Playhouse. "Our committee of incredible volunteers is working so hard to ensure this event is not only unforgettably fun, but that it also raises a significant amount of money for the programs and mission of Flat Rock Playhouse."

Dark Night Studio begins at 6:30PM with Dinner by the Bite along with demonstrations and a silent auction. The performances and live auction will occur from 8:45PM - 9:45 PM.

Catering is provided by Cuisine Team, Renzo's Ristorante, Food Experience, Season's at Highland Lake Inn and Hubba Hubba Smokehouse. Flowers by An English Flower Cottage.
