Audiences are invited to hear their favorite Disney songs in a musical revue as Upper Darby Summer Stage opens its 41st season with "Disney Princesses & Heroes." Performances are July 6, 7 and 8 at 10:30 a.m. and on July 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center.

Tickets are affordably priced at $7-11 and can be purchased online at www.udpac.org or by calling the box office: 610.622.1189. The Upper Darby Performing Arts Center is located in Drexel Hill at 601 N. Lansdowne Avenue, minutes from the Main Line and Center City. The show is approximately 60 minutes, with no intermission. Parking is free. The show is ideal for ages four and up and free babysitting is offered for younger siblings who may be too young to sit through the entire show.

The 41st season will kick off with an exciting musical concert featuring everyone's favorite Disney heroes and princesses in songs and dances from the latest Disney movie and Broadway hits! With a focus on anti-bullying and overcoming challenges, the musical revue celebrates the heroes and princesses audiences we meet every day. The grand finale will bring all the characters together as they defeat a fiery dragon. The show will also feature an original opening and finale, written and composed by Director Matt Cloran and Musical Director, Dan Matarrazzo.

A Summer Stage show is a unique experience. Young Audience members are invited to come early to performances to participate in fun pre-show activities and stay after the show to meet cast members. UD Summer Stage also invites young Audience members to attend dressed as their favorite Disney princess or hero.

"Watching Ariel reach for her dream to be human despite obstacles, seeing Aladdin experience his own self worth through his friendship with the Genie and true love with Jasmine, and watching Princess Anna make the ultimate sacrifice to save her sister Elsa - to name a few - become teaching moments that explore courage, sacrifice, love and bravery," Cloran said. He added, "We hope to take our audiences on a journey and just maybe, open their eyes to a whole new aspect of the Disney story: the part that speaks to the kind of people they might very well become one day - the modern day hero and princess!"

For 41 seasons Upper Darby Summer Stage has been empowering young people and entertaining families throughout the Philadelphia region. A two-time consecutive winner of the Main Line Parent's "Best Children Theatre" Love Award, the program is also a five-time consecutive MyFoxPhilly HotList winner in the "Best Theatre" category.

The Upper Darby Performing Arts Center and Upper Darby Summer Stage are jointly sponsored by Upper Darby Township Mayor and Council and the Upper Darby School District Board of School Directors through the Department of Recreation and Leisure Services.
