The non-profit State Theatre Center for the Arts in Easton announces the 2016 Year End Giving Campaign -- reaching out to the community for donations that will support a "green" project that includes an LED conversion for our main theatre hall and stage area (including the beautiful chandelier) and exterior security lights. The project will potentially save up to 80% per year in energy costs, thanks to highly efficient LED bulbs that last 10 times longer than our current incandescent bulbs, and at the same time will enrich the quality of the performances that patrons have come to expect.

"Lighting is important in every aspect of show business, and the amount of light bulbs we use in our facility is huge," comments President & CEO Shelley Brown. "We are always looking for ways to lower operating costs and be environmentally friendly. We have found LED lights and a dimmer system that will help us maintain our luster and accomplish those goals. Our community has helped us keep our historic building in great shape. This is one more very special way to help."

The goal for the 2016 Bright Future Campaign is $40,000.

As part of the State Theatre's 90 Years of WOW celebration, community members who contribute $90 or more by December 21, will be able to see their name in lights on the State Theatre marquee the week of December 24-January 1.

Tax Deductible Contributions can be made to: State Theatre Bright Future Campaign, 453 Northampton Street, Easton, PA 18042 or online at www.statetheatre.org

Past successful campaigns have resulted in improvements to the historic theatre's curtain, roof and interior plaster.
