Hershey Area Playhouse Theatre Academy announces its acting classes for students in grades K-12 in a six-week spring session every Saturday from April 2 to May 7.

In the Creative Kids - Shhh! It's a Silent Movie session, students in grades K-3 will learn to tell stories with the camera, while exploring creative work through film and film editing, and learning story structure through games and creative dramatics.

The Acting It Up - Camera Tricks and Treats session, for students grades 4-6, will explore creative self-expression through video and how the camera focuses the audience on the story. Students will explore story structure, shot angles and editing with special effects as a creative element in storytelling.

In the Theatre Arts Studio 1 - The Editor's Eye session, students in grades 7-12 will explore video and media arts, learning to use special effects, editing, camera shots and the directed focus through the eye of the camera to turn stories into short films.

Taught by instructors with experience in both theatre and education, all acting classes will culminate with a mini-film festival open house. For more information and to download a registration form, visit www.HersheyAreaPlayhouse.com and select the Theatre Academy drop-down menu.
