Most people know the story of Peter Pan and Wendy. A boy who won't grow up visits the Darling family and takes their children away to Neverland. There they encounter Indians, pirates, and mermaids, and go on all sorts of adventures before they return back to their homes. They also fly, a lot.

When DreamWrights Youth and Family Theatre voted to do Peter Pan and Wendy, the big question was: "how are we going to make them fly?" DreamWrights is a black box theatre, which makes flying actors nearly impossible. You need a lot of height to be able to use a traditional harness flying system, and much more distance from the audience. It also costs a lot of money. So a lot of brainstorming needed to happen. After many talks and production meetings, we decided to try two creative and very exciting ways to simulate flight. Come and see!

Another first time event is the addition of a second director. We are welcoming back a former actor, Paige Hoke. Paige grew up at DreamWrights, went off and earned her undergraduate degree in Theatre, and has returned to share her knowledge and skills with us. It's a very unusual to have two directors, one 65 and the other 24, but then no one else has two casts either.

The two casts number 35 each, and if you add staff and crews the total involved in Peter Pan and Wendy is 123 wonderful volunteers. The characters who are the most familiar are being played by the following; Peter ... Brice Leidy, 12, Red Lion & Nathaniel Tyson, 14, Dallastown - Wendy ... Gabby Turner, 12, Glen Rock & Taylor Litke, 14, York - Captain Hook ... Jerry Young, 44, York & Chris Endres, 23, New Freedom - Tinker Bell ... Lydia Alvarnaz, 7, Mt. Wolf & Ruthie Mangin, 7, York. However, there are many, many more community actors of all ages to come and enjoy!
