DreamWrights Youth & Family Theatre has a great lineup of classes for the spring session beginning March 7th and running throughout the month. Classes are scheduled for participants as young as 3 and up to adults and are taught by six experienced teaching artists.

Renee Morth holds a BFA in Acting and a MA in Educational Theatre from NYU. She will be teaching YOGA STORIES for our 3-4 year old actors. The Frog, the Cobra and don't forget about the Eagle! In this delightful class, little ones are introduced to a variety of yoga poses through world folk tales with highlighted moral themes. Participants will also have the opportunity to create their own stories using the poses discovered in class. No mats necessary and parents are invited to attend!

The ever popular Kevin Allen has been a teaching artist at DreamWrights for 5 years. He holds an MA in Theatre Arts from Villanova University and is an adjunct faculty member at York College. How does an actor create a believable character? In this class - CARTOON CHARACTER CREATIONS - Kevin invites students, ages 3 - 7, to explore the process of developing three dimensional characters based upon popular cartoon characters from today's hottest animated movies. The class will conclude with a presentation of these created characters.

With an MA in Practical Theatre & Dramatic Arts from Villanova University and a BA in Communications and Performing Arts, Kelsey Markey will teach our production camp - KINDNESS. From auditions and casting to rehearsal and performance, actors, age 8-16, will experience all parts of a production in just ten sessions. This is a great opportunity for all theatre experience levels! Kindness by Dennis Foon is a Distinguished Play Award winner from the American Alliance for Theatre and Education. The play offers an unforgettable lesson in compassion and listening to one another, telling the story of Tessa, Damon and Keegan, as they navigate the small and large catastrophes in their lives.

DreamWrights Technical Director, Bob McCleary, affectionately known as Bob the Builder, will take students age 8 -16 on a journey through lights and sound in the theatre. Light can do more than just let the audience see - it can help them feel as well. Sound can take the audience flying out of its seats into a roaring volcano! Learn the basics and some cool advanced tricks in FUN WITH LIGHTS AND SOUND! Then use your new skills to help the other spring classes with their final presentations on March 28th.

Master Designers, Ray Olewiler and Allen Brenner, bring over 60 years of combined theatrical design experience to the table! Participants ages 13-adult will learn cool techniques and design elements in this MASTER CLASS IN SET DESIGN AND FAUX PAINTING. Limited enrollment - sign up now!
