The Redhouse Arts Center has announced its 2017-18 Main Stage Season filled with charm, wit, laughter, a dash of hysterical family dynamics and plenty of pure theatrical excitement.

Join Redhouse on a fun-filled and nostalgic adventure as it begins the season at its current home and transitions to the new location in downtown Syracuse by early 2018.

This year will also feature several on-stage special guests including those that are brand new to Syracuse and Central New York along with an abundance of longtime Redhouse favorites. Performances for productions running from September through December will take place at the Redhouse Main Stage on S. West Street and January through June productions are planned for Redhouse @ City Center located at 400 S. Salina Street.

Redhouse will kick off its season with The Little Dog Laughed by Douglas Carter Beane which runs from September 7 to 24, 2017. Starring Instagram sensation Max Emerson (@maxisms) and Redhouse Founding Artistic Director Laura Austin, this charming yet hilarious play is the perfect start to Redhouse's final season in its current home. Mitchell, an impossibly handsome Hollywood film star, is trying to come out of the closet, while Diane, his impossibly ballsy agent, is trying to keep him in. He is torn between his desire for fame and money and his longing for love, with all its requisite complications. The Little Dog Laughed is a biting, timely comedy, that takes aim at the entertainment industry and the way happy endings "should" look. Don't miss this Tony Award- winning comedy sure to keep you laughing from start to finish.

Just in time for Halloween, Redhouse will present 70 Scenes of Halloween by Jeffrey Jones with performances running from October 19 to 29, 2017. We welcome back John Bixler along with a professional cast of local actors in what will be one of our final productions at the current location. This unique, fast-paced, frightening and funny work is the perfect Fall offering with plenty of Redhouse-style tricks and treats in store. Ghosts, beasts, witches and butcher knives? 'Stranger Things' are happening in suburbia. Join Joan and Jeff, a married couple, as they spend an unusual Halloween night at home. Wildly theatrical, frighteningly funny, and, yes, downright scary.

As the holiday season approaches, Redhouse will up the charm level with I Do! I Do! with book and lyrics by Tom Jones and music by Harvey Schmidt. Performances will take place November 30 to December 17, 2017. Redhouse prides itself on providing a home in which artists can grow and thrive. This season we are thrilled to welcome back one of our regular performers, Temar Underwood (Beauty and the Beast, Dreamgirls). This time, however, Temar will be behind the scenes making his directorial debut with I Do! Do! This intimate and nostalgic musical is the perfect love story for the holidays. Follow Michael and Agnes through 50 years of marriage; from their wedding day to the night they pass on their beloved home to the next pair of newlyweds. This Tony Award winning musical features an unforgettable score including the classic song "My Cup Runneth Over With Love". I Do! I Do! which ran on broadway for 560 performances, will be the farewell toast to our current home at 201 S West Street.

In 2018 Redhouse will present the classic family drama On Golden Pond by Ernest Thompson with performances on March 8 to 18, 2018 as the first main stage production in our new home. This captivating love story follows Ethel and Norman Thayer as they return to their summer home in Maine. Their respite is interrupted by the arrival of their estranged daughter, her fiance?, and his teenage son. In the twilight years of marriage, Ethel and Norman rediscover the importance of family. Redhouse is thrilled to welcome TV comedy icon, Fred Grandy (Gopher on the Loveboat and Dr. Ledreau on The Mindy Project) and his real life daughter Broadway's Marya Grandy to star in this production.

Redhouse will celebrate the official Grand Opening of its new home at 400 S Salina with the ever-popular musical La Cage aux Folles, Book by Harvey Feirstein, Music and Lyrics by Jerry Herman, based on the play by Jean Poiret. Performances will take place at Redhouse @ City Center from May 31 - June 10, 2018. An inspiring, feel good musical with brains, belly laughs, and a huge tuneful heart, it's no wonder that La Cage won the Tony Award for Best Musical twice! Georges is the suave owner of a glitzy drag club on the French Riviera. Partnered romantically with his high-strung star performer, Albin, the pair live a charmed life-until Georges' son turns up engaged to the daughter of a famously conservative, right- wing politician whose coming to dinner. Starring Redhouse favorite and Syracuse native Steve Hayes! Plenty of fun and festivities are in store both on and off the stage as Redhouse celebrates its new home.
