The spirit and energy of Johnny Cash comes to Central New York in Merry-Go-Round's much anticipated 5th show of the season, Ring of Fire.  Featuring songs written and made famous by Johnny Cash including, "Folsom Prison Blues," "Jackson," "A Boy Named Sue," "Hurt," and title song "Ring of Fire."  This show captures the essence of an American tale using the storytelling powers his famous songs.

Merry-Go-Round Playhouse is eager to share this heartwarming and stirring musical, which is not a story about Johnny Cash, but is instead a story told through his unforgettable music and lyrics.  Although the iconic Man in Black is never portrayed as a character in Ring of Fire, his presence pervades throughout the entire production.  A multitalented cast of actor/musicians weave together this beautiful tapestry of an American tale.

The talented cast of Ring of Fire features David M. Lutken who has just completed a critically acclaimed run as Don Quixote in MGR's most recent production, Man of La Mancha.  Lutken along with Sherry Stregack co-directs this production. Stregack also serves as choreographer.  Erik Scott Anthony Holds the position of Musical Director and has been involved with the production, along with David M. Lutken, since its original workshop in Buffalo, NY.

MGR veterans are handling the technical side of the show with Annastacia Storrie designing the set, Lucy Brown designing costumes, Jason Hurley on sound and local favorite Robert Frame on lighting.
