Zia Joins 'DUETS with thewriteteachers.com: LGBTQ+ Edition' at Birdland

Zia, who was last seen as Joanne in RENT at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, will join DUETS with thewriteteachers.com: LGBTQ+ Edition", at Birdland Jazz on August 8th.

This special fourth volume of the concert is presented by The Broadway at Birdland concert series, and will benefit the One Orlando Fund.

The evening will pair Broadway hopefuls with the Broadway professionals that have inspired them to join and/or stay in the crazy life of show business. The show will consist of songs from across the musical theatre canon that speak to the LBGTQ+ experience. Think Bare. Think RENT. Think A New Brian. Think of some gender swapped famous duets, too!

A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the One Orlando Fund. In such times of tragedy and heartbreak, we must stand together. We must support one another. We must love one another. As Lin-Manuel Miranda says, "love is love is love is love."

Zia joins a cast that features the dazzling vocal stylings of Loni Ackerman (Cats, Evita), Ryan Andes, (Encores' Wild Party, NBC's Peter Pan LIVE!, Big Fish), Maddie Shea Baldwin (Bright Star), Max Crumm (Disaster, Grease), Christopher Hlinka (Mamma Mia Nat'l Tour), Jesse James Keitel, Hannah Kloepfer, Andrew Kober (She Loves Me, Les Miserables, HAIR), Corey Mach (Hands on a Hardbody, Hair), Angelo McDonough, Molly Model, Magnus Tonning Riise, Peter Romagna, T.J. Newton, Kyle Scatliffe (The Color Purple, Les Miserables), Ariana Sepúlveda, Stephanie Turci, Tony Award Nominee Adrienne Warren (Shuffle Along), and Mathieu Whitman, with additional performers to be announced!
