Sketch Comedy Show WE'RE VERY PROUD & WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH to Premiere at NY Int'l Fringe 8/8-22

His Majesty, the Baby, an experimental comedy troupe formed at Yale, brings their original show WE'RE VERY PROUD AND WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH to New York at Teatro LATEA at Clemente, as part of the 2014 New York International Fringe Festival/Fringe NYC.

A couple gets locked in a palindromic relationship for all of eternity. A traditional marriage activist named Adam argues that marriage can only take place between a man & a woman named Adam & Eve respectively. An aged child-star named Pepsi Garbage discovers "a way to find out the truth" through audience applause. WVPaWLYSM weaves these sketches, dance, poetry, live music featuring the punk rock group Sister Helen & more into a dream-like narrative.

His Majesty, the Baby was conceived by five best friends at Yale who all felt that comedy was very upsetting & who all liked being very upset. When you laugh, you enter a space of intense receptivity to all kind of thoughts, including the most terrifying ones; the ones that can shake you, change you & make you better. Watching their shows is probably the most hilarious way to have a crisis of identity, mortality, family & taxes. You will emerge redeemed & more spiritually complete.

At Yale, His Majesty, the Baby received multiple arts grants & developed a cult following, regularly filling theatres. They have also performed at the People's Improv Theater in NYC & the Flight Theater in Los Angeles. The troupe is in the process of permanently relocating to New York & the Fringe Festival will be their debut as a New York-based troupe.

PERSONAL NOTE FROM HIS MAJESTY, THE BABY: One member of our group, Max Ritvo, is fighting Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. His Majesty, the Baby has thus far raised over ten thousand dollars for Ewing's research & much of our work directly addresses Max's illness. Consider donating to Ewing's research instead of attending our show. Or, not.
