Rebecca Angel to Headline First Holiday Show at the Metropolitan Room, 12/23

Christmas is the time of year when miracles happen and angels take flight - and this year, one of the jazziest and most talented, emerging vocalist Rebecca Angel, is soaring with the highly anticipated release of her debut holiday single "My Favorite Time of The Year."

The swinging, easy grooving track, penned by and featuring Rebecca's father, popular contemporary jazz trumpeter/flugelhornist Dennis Angel and produced by legendary producer Jason Miles, has been hailed by Smooth Jazz Therapy as a "modern classic... a wonderful song with which to get into the holiday spirit and is very worth checking out."

Rebecca will be performing "My Favorite Time of the Year" and other holiday songs, jazz standards and original compositions on Wednesday, December 23, when she makes her highly anticipated debut performance at the Metropolitan Room, NYC's internationally acclaimed jazz cabaret with The Dennis Angel Band, featuring Dennis (flugelhorn and trumpet), Gottfried Stoger (sax and flute), Jon Werking (piano), Gregory Jones (bass) and Nadav Snir Zelniker (drums). Doors open at 6:15 p.m., and Rebecca and the band take the stage at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $20. The Metropolitan Room is located at 34 W. 22nd Street, New York, NY 10010.

A jazz vocal major at Ithaca College, Rebecca has been performing and recording with Dennis' band for more than five years. Her vocal teachers include Roseanna Vitro, Cyrille Aimee, Barbara Maier, Carol McAmis, Kim Nazarian and Lauren Kinhan. An original song she co-wrote with Dennis and recorded in 2012, "A Song in Harmony" . Brent Black, of Criticaljazz.com on November 6, 2012, wrote "A Song in Harmony' features vocalist Rebecca Angel whose pristine vocals are elegant and when combined with an intoxicating tone and impeccable phrasing the more highly evolved radio outlets should sit up and take notice."

Rebecca has performed regularly with The Dennis Angel Band at popular New York venues, including Iridium, The Triad and Café Noctambulo.

In July 2015, Dennis released "Jubilation," the fourth radio single from his breakthrough album On Track. His previous single "Serenity" hit #15 with a bullet on the Groove Jazz Music chart, where it remained for over 8 weeks.

Rebecca and Dennis are two Angels who are sure to make this holiday season "Your Favorite Time of The Year".
