The acclaimed Monday Nights, New Voices series continues its fifth year April 27th at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre.

The series, produced by composer Scott Alan, showcases some of today's brightest ‘New Voices' in New York.

The concert will be hosted by recent The Little Mermaid star, Norm Lewis and will include performances by Shaleah Adkisson, Charlie Levy, Shane Orser, Ian Joseph and Rachel Potter.

The evenings guest composer/lyricist will be emerging composer and lyricist, Adam Overett.

Adam Overett is a writer and performer living in New York City. As an actor, he has appeared on Broadway and on national tour in THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, covering the role of Fabrizio; and off-Broadway in JUNIE B. JONES. (See resume.) He is a member of the Lehman Engel Musical Theater Advanced Workshop at BMI, where he won the 2002 Jerry Harrington Award for Excellence. His musical, CALL IT COURAGE based on the Newbery Medal-winning novel by Armstrong Sperry, was a 2005 New York Musical Theatre Festival selectee, as well as a finalist for the ASCAP Workshop, the Bloomington Playwriting Contest and other awards. It was given a staged reading at the York Theatre in 2004, and was featured on the Bound For Broadway concert series at Merkin Hall in 2005. Adam has also authored the musicals THE FIREBIRD and SEEING THE LIGHT; the screenplay THE SWALLOW'S NEST; and several plays, including PASSPORT, STANDING GUARD, and THE BIRDBATH. Adam is a graduate of Yale University.
