Michele Lee to Premiere New Cabaret Show at 54 Below, 1/30-2/1

Back on the New York City stage for the first time since 2010, actress/singer/performer Michele Lee is debuting her much-anticipated new cabaret show in a very special three-night only run on January 30th at 7pm, January 31st at 8pm and February 1st at 8pm at supper club 54 Below - 254 West 54th Street NY, NY 10019.

Lee last performed live in New York in 2010, opening her rave reviewed musical act at Feinstein's at the Regency in Manhattan. The New York Times' Stephen Holden declared.... "Her show belongs to the old school of knock-'em-dead entertainment embodied by Liza Minnelli, Sam Harris and Patti LaBelle. Once she's on the stage, it isn't enough to seduce or enlighten; the only goal worth pursuing is total conquest."

In addition to her taste in music and a carefully honed act that doesn't look and sound mechanical or over-rehearsed, the thing that I find utterly captivating about Michele Lee is the warmth and candor with which she brings her audience into her heart. Also that year, Lee performed at Carnegie Hall with Michael Feinstein and appeared in the play Love, Loss & What I Wore, written by her favorite writer-director Nora Ephron and her sister Delia.

Lee's new concert, developed over the last six months, also features her brilliant quintet led by arranger/conductor extraordinaire Ron Abel. The show boasts an eclectic songbook, with classics she popularized as well songs from those magical composers, lyricists, and artists with whom she has worked and shared stages in every medium. Audiences will enjoy Broadway hits, along with Lee's enthralling personal backstage stories, anecdotes from her visits to the White House over the years and some unexpected turns and surprises.

She'll include tunes like Nobody Does it Like Me, from Michael Bennett's hit musical "Seesaw" (which won Lee a 1974 Tony Nomination), Joni Mtchell's A Case of You, Feeling Good, I Dreamed a Dream and even has a medley of songs planned depicting the change in women's attitudes in theater over the course of time.

Of course, Michele Lee is known worldwide for her Emmy-nominated role as Karen Fairgate MacKenzie in the landmark CBS television series Knots Landing, now the fifth-longest running prime time dramatic series in history. She appeared in all 344 episodes of the show, setting the American record for the greatest number of consecutive appearances by a leading actress in an hour-long prime-time dramatic series. In addition, her directing credits include numerous Knots Landing episodes.

She has also starred in and produced numerous films for television, including CBS's Emmy-nominated Big Dreams and Broken Hearts: The Dottie West Story, When No One Would Listen, and Scandalous Me: The Jacqueline Susann Story.

More recently, Lee appeared in the Universal feature Along Came Polly opposite Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston, playEd Scott Baio's mother on the Nick at Nite series See Dad Run and was featured on ABC Television's How to Live with Your Parents.
