Singer Marianne Challis returns to Feinstein's at the Loews Regency, Park Avenue at 61st Street, NYC this Monday, January 17th at 8:30 PM with the debut of her new show "The Cosmo Report". Known as a sophisticated chanteuse with rib-tickling comedy chops, the self-styled 'middle-aged party girl' will be joined at Feinstein's by Musical Director/Pianist Tedd Firth on piano, John Redsecker on drums and Dick Sarpola on bass. "The Cosmo Report" has been directed by Marianne's frequent collaborator MAC Award winner Scott Barnes. The show will include several of her most-requested songs, such as "Both Sides Now," and "Downtown," as well as newly crafted arrangements especially for this engagement.
Marianne, who began her career in musical theatre, has starred at the New York City Opera in "South Pacific" and Carnegie Hall's Sondheim Salute. As a cabaret artist Marianne has performed to sold-out crowds at The Royal Room in Palm Beach, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, Playhouse on the Green in Bridgeport, CT and at Feinstein's and The Metropolitan Room. She won the 2008 Bistro Award for Outstanding Female Vocalist. Audiences across the country applaud the 'every-woman' quality of her shows - as if your next door neighbor could sing from the depth of her soul as she shares both the mundane and hilarious challenges of daily life. Her first solo CD "Confessions of a Middle-Aged Party Girl" is available nationwide. In addition to her performing career, Marianne is one of the country's top vocal coaches. She has worked with the Broadway or touring casts of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, WICKED, LITTLE MERMAID, LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE, SHREK, WEST SIDE STORY and PHANTOM and she has students in most of the shows currently on Broadway.Videos
