2014 MAC Award & 2013 BroadwayWorld Award Winner for Best Male Vocalist Jonathan Whitton (HEDWIG & THE ANGRY INCH) returns for one night only at Don't Tell Mama. Following his award-winning concert residency at the same venue, BLACK SHEEP REDUX VARIATIONS will be presented on Friday, September 18 @ 7PM.

Celebrated for his atypical concert artistry, Jonathan Whitton takes stage at Don't Tell Mama in collaboration with musical partner indie-musician/guitarist Aaron Jones. Together, they will reexamine and introduce new song selections to their unique 2012-2014 concert series BLACK SHEEP CARNIVAL, alternatively titled: BLACK SHEEP REDUX VARIATIONS.

Whitton is a two-time Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs (MAC) award winner and the recipient of the Bistro and BroadwayWorld Awards for his work as a solo concert artist. As an actor, he has been seen in NYC productions of EVEN FOR ONE NIGHT (Dixon Place), RAZIA'S SHADOW (Joe's Pub), THE DISNEY DIARIES (dir. Michele Pawk, Laurie Beechman), SEPARATE: BATTLE SONGS OF YOUTH (Ars Nova), & THE YELLOW WOOD (dir. Brian Yorkey, New World Stages). Regionally, he has starred in productions of THE LAST FIVE YEARS, HEDWIG, CABARET, & SANTALAND DIARIES. He also performs frequently at Joe's Pub, 54 Below, Ars Nova, Highline Ballroom, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, and Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall.

Musical selections for BLACK SHEEP REDUX VARIATIONS include songs from an eclectic group of contemporary musicians: Lake Street Dive, Kate McGarrigle, Patty Griffin, Amos Lee, Leiber & Stoller, Sufjan Stevens, John Vanderslice, & Rufus Wainwright, amongst others.

NYU Musical Theatre Writing Program Graduate Aaron Jones serves as Music Director.

Times Square Chronicle recently proclaimed Whitton, "a 21st Century troubadour." Backstage Magazine states, "Whitton exudes talent and taste," and Cabaret Scenes heralds, "Whitton is built to last. He'll be around for the long run: performing, growing, daring."

Whitton's Debut Album, JONATHAN WHITTON: LIVE AT THE LAURIE BEECHMAN, is available on iTunes.
