Songs of Hope: Broadway Goes to Church!

A Live Benefit Concert with the proceeds going toward

St. Paul's Music Ministry Programs for Emerging Artists!

St. Paul's Pastor Father Gil Martinez explains, "Friends of our parish and professional concert singers Will and Anthony Nunziata conceived the idea of celebrating our faith, care and concern for each other with a live concert comprised of hope-inspiring Broadway tunes performed by Broadway stars. This concept fits in perfectly with our mission to broaden our appeal to the different audiences that make up the remarkable mosaic of individuals and families in our parish and beyond. It's exactly what our Holy Father Francis is promoting every day!"

Valerie Shondel, Director of St. Paul's Music Ministry, continued, "Last year's successful concert encouraged us to produce a second one, but this time, a BENEFIT CONCERT with proceeds going to a help us fund our Music Ministry programs for emerging artists."

Anthony Nunziata added, "As Will & I perform in concert around the country and world, we've recognized that singing is such a unifying force in bringing hearts and souls and minds together. It focuses on joy and a true sense of caring for one another. So we figured, what better way to celebrate and inspire a congregation only blocks from the lights of Broadway and Lincoln Center?, than to produce a live concert including award-winning Broadway stars singing inspirational Broadway tunes in a remarkable, welcoming Church such as St. Paul the Apostle... led by the incomparable Father Gil. The bonus this time is that we can now also fuel the St. Paul Music Ministry programs that assist so many, including emerging artists.

In addition to Will and Anthony, professional stars already slated to perform are Tony Award Winners Lillias White and Cady Huffman, Emmy Award Winner Liz Callaway, and Fiddler on the Roof Broadway star Jessica Vosk. The musical director for the evening (and creator of original orchestrations) is Garrett Taylor who will lead a multi-piece orchestra.
