Birdland Jazz Club has announced its lineup for April 10-April 16, featuring Kevin Eubanks Quartet, with Dave Holland, Nicholas Payton and Jeff Tain Watts, KT Sullivan, Geoffrey Keezer Trio, with Gillian Margot, and more. Scroll down for details!

Birdland will kick-off their great week of programming with the following acts:

April 10 (Monday) at 7:00PM

KT Sullivan Makes Birdland Debut in "You're the Top"

The Broadway at Birdland concert series is thrilled to announce that cabaret superstar KT Sullivan will make her concert debut on the historic stage on Monday, April 10 at 7pm. KT Sullivan makes her Birdland debut with her new Cole Porter show "You're The Top." The title refers to KT's concept that Cole Porter is at the top of the food chain when it comes to songsmiths, and thus her favorite. Among the musical gems from Cole's catalog will be "It's Delovely," "In The Still Of The Night," "Don't Fence Me In," "So In Love," "I've Got You Under My Skin," "Physician," "Experiment," "Down In The Depths On The 90th Floor," and "Brush Up Your Shakespeare." Musical Director will be John Weber, with Steve Doyle on bass.

Jim Caruso's Cast Party

Jim Caruso's Cast Party is a wildly popular weekly soiree that brings a sprinkling of Broadway glitz and urbane wit to the legendary Birdland in New York City every Monday night. It's a cool cabaret night-out enlivened by a hilariously impromptu variety show. Showbiz superstars, backed by Steve Doyle on bass, Billy Stritch on piano and Daniel Glass on drums, hit the stage alongside up-and-comers, serving up jaw-dropping music and general razzle-dazzle.

Kevin Eubanks Quartet with Dave Holland, Nicholas Payton and Jeff Tain Watts

Philadelphia native Kevin Eubanks grew up surrounded by music. His mother, Vera, was both a gospel and classical pianist, and his brothers Robin and Duane play trombone and trumpet respectively. Eubanks started as an elementary student playing violin, trumpet and piano and eventually found himself studying at Berklee College of Music. After graduating, he moved to New York City and started performing with legends such Art Blakey, Roy Haynes, and Sam Rivers, carving out a spot as the go-to guitarist in the New York jazz scene. In 1992 he moved to Los Angeles to join The Tonight Show Band and in '95 he replaced Branford Marsalis as the leader and served in that role for 15 years. Eubanks left the showin 2010 and has since released three albums with Mack Avenue Records: Zen Food, The Messenger and Duets (with Stanley Jordan).

David Ostwald's Louis Armstrong Eternity Band

Inspired by the noble jazz pioneers Louis Armstrong, Bix Beiderbecke, Duke Ellington, Jelly Roll Morton and their colleagues, David Ostwald's Louis Armstrong Eternity Band breathes life and passion into America's own great art form. Now in its 14th year of residency at Birdland, the weekly post-workday engagement is the city's best musical bargain! Tuba player David Ostwald leads a rotating lineup that features talents such as clarinetist Anat Cohen, trombonist/vocalist Wycliffe Gordon, pianist Ehud Asherie, drummer Marion Felder and more!

April 13 (Thursday) at 6:00PM

Geoffrey Keezer Trio with Gillian Margot

With his highly regarded discography, unique compositions, and acclaimed performances in a variety of configurations, pianist Geoffrey Keezer commands the attention typically reserved for the living legends of jazz. Whether recording with jazzy chanteuses Diana Krall or Dianne Reeves, touring with trumpet king Chris Botti, or collaborating with pop icon Sting, sax legend Wayne Shorter, guitar wizard Jim Hall, star bassist Christian McBride or vibes master Joe Locke, Geoffrey "has more than enough virtuosity and sheer musical wit and intelligence to weave all of his apparently disparate strands of influence into an original and compelling whole" (Time Magazine). Perhaps the most exciting turn in Geoffrey's career is his recent focus on solo piano and his first solo release in thirteen years, Heart of the Piano (2013, Motema Records). On a mission to redefine solo jazz piano as a personal and interactive showcase of melody, energy and groove, Keezer brings to Heart of the Piano his most direct and focused artistry to date.But regardless of the nature of his projects, from solo to duo to quartet, from bandleader to big band, from post bop jazz to electronica to global fusion, from composer to arranger, Geoffrey delivers music from the heart of the piano to the ear--and heart--of the listener.

Join Birdland in celebrating the life and music of Barbara Carroll (January 25, 1925 - February 12, 2017) with her longtime acolyte Bill Charlap and longtime bandmate Jay Leonhart, as well invited guest from Barbara's extensive musical community.

Infinite Distances: A Memorial Concert for Peter Haidu

Noah Haidu (Piano), Jon Irabagon (Saxophones), Yasushi Nakamura (Acoustic Bass), John Davis (Drums). This concert is dedicated to Peter Haidu, my father, who passed away on February 7, 2017 just a few days before my latest CD, Infinite Distances was about to be released. After cancelling my CD release events, I decided to remake my Birdland CD release concert a tribute to my dad who introduced me to jazz.

Arturo O'Farrill Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra

Grammy Award winning pianist, composer and educator Arturo O'Farrill -- leader of the "first family of Afro-Cuban Jazz" (NY Times) -- was born in Mexico and grew up in New York City. Son of the late, great composer Chico O'Farrill, Arturo was Educated at Manhattan School of Music, Brooklyn College Conservatory and the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. He played piano in Carla Bley's Big Band from 1979 through 1983 and earned a reputation as a soloist in groups led by Dizzy Gillespie, Steve Turre, Freddy Cole, Lester Bowie, Wynton Marsalis and Harry Belafonte.

Named for alto saxophonist and jazz pioneer Charlie "Bird" Parker who dubbed it "The Jazz Corner of the World," Birdland opened on December 15th 1949. For 60 years it has been home to jazz legends, from Parker, John Coltrane Duke Ellington and Count Basie to Oscar Peterson, Hank Jones, Diana Krall and everyone in between. The original 52nd street location was a cultural barometer and meeting place, inspiring the songs "Birdland" and "Lullaby of Birdland," and serving as a regular haunt for celebrities and cultural figures. The modern incarnation is a state of the art nightclub featuring award winning Southern and Cajun cuisine, first rate sound and lighting and a who's who of contemporary musical artists, 7 nights a week.
