Larson-winning, MAC-nominated songwriter Joshua H. Cohen returns to the Duplex with TRUE STORY, Saturday, November 21, 4:30 pm. Cohen dresses down hipsters, hitchhikers, histrionics, and most of all himself, with a baker's dozen of songs inspired by real life, including songbook favorites and brand-new material.

Cohen will be at the piano himself for the first time, leading a cast of featured performers including Richard Binder (Cheeseburger Deluxe), Jessica Cannizzaro (The Mysteries @ The Flea), Anne Cohen, Alex de Suze (hostess of No Name Presents the Uptown Cabaret), Victoria Huston-Elem (The Hidden Sky, Golden Boy of the Blue Ridge), Brett Macias (composer of GUMBO), Brian Charles Rooney (Bedbugs!!, The Threepenny Opera on Broadway), and Hana Slevin.

TRUE STORY will be performed at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre, 61 Christopher Street on the corner of 7th Avenue, on Saturday, November 21, at 4:30 pm. Joshua H. Cohen's work is currently represented in New York with Flight School: the Musical (Vital Theater Company), now extended until December 6. Honors include a Jonathan Larson Grant, the Anna Zornio Children's Theatre Playwriting Award (lyrics, Keep On Walkin'), the Chameleon Theatre Circle New Play Award for musical Ordinary Island (music/lyrics), and a MAC Award nomination for his cult cabaret hit "The Sacrifice of Love" (a.k.a. the waxing song). Productions include his play The Thirteenth Commandment (Libra Theater Company, 7 NY Innovative Theater Award nominations, 2 wins) and musical Tamar of the River (Prospect Theatre Company, 2 Drama Desk nominations, world premiere recording from Yellow Sound Label).
