DAN FISHBACK & Max Vernon

Monday, April 5 at 7:00 PM

Performance artist Dan Fishback has been making plays and records in NYC since 2003. With his twee, anti-folk band Cheese On Bread, he has toured Europe and North America, and released albums in the United States and Japan. His third full-length solo album, "Mammal," will drop in late 2010.

21-year-old piano prodigy Max Vernon is a bitchy twist on the singer-songwriter tradition: a sarcastic Joni Mitchell, an aloof Regina Spektor, a deadpan Laura Nyro. After gaining national notoriety with a series of YouTube performances (over 125,000 views), his work has been praised in New York Magazine, the New York Post, W, Toronto Star, Paste, and 30+ music blogs. KEVIN AHART

Monday, April 5 at 9:30 PM

Kevin Ahart, tailored to the nines and crooning songs in his velvety saloon-singer voice, appears before his audience this way, not because of some persona he's adopted, but because he has no other choice. This is Kevin Ahart.

Hailing from Austin, TX, Kevin has been steeped in music his entire life. However, it was the music of the great song interpreters of the 40s and 50s that spoke directly to his soul. Kevin combines the creativity of the celebrated Austin music tradition with the discipline required of any true improvisational vocalist to hone his distinct artistic identity. He's equally comfortable onstage with a two-piece combo as he is with a full orchestra.

The high caliber of music industry veterans passionately involved in this project, from writers and producers to publishers and representation, bespeak to his obvious chops, potential, and charisma. Kevin's unique abilities and talents as a songwriter, arranger, and performer distinguish him from the neo-crooners of the recent past and set him up for longevity in this classic genre. $12
