Horse Trade Theater Group has announced that after six incredible years running the popular Tuesday night open mic at UNDER St. Marks, Penny Pollak will be stepping down as producer and host. Tuesday, August 27th will be her last show, as she'll be relocating to Los Angeles to work on her film ABIGAIL: A Comedy About Suicide directed by Tony Kaye (American History X; Lake of Fire; Detachment) and produced by Above the Sea Productions.

An integral part of Horse Trade's regular programming since 2007, Penny's Open Mic has been a home for any and all artists to workshop, experiment and share their art seven minutes at a time. Thankfully, Penny's departure will not signal the end of the popular Tuesday night show. Beginning the following Tuesday, September 3rd, Dan Ricker, Kaitlyn O'Connor and Mike Milazzo will be taking the reins with their new show The Open Mic Downstairs.

The Penny's Open Mic Finale will be on Tuesday, August 27th 9pm-2am. The Open Mic Downstairs will kick off on Tuesday, September 3rd at 9pm at UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place between 1st Avenue and Avenue A). Admission to both events is $3 at the door.
