Tonight, October 15th at 9:30pm Carol Woods moonlights from the Broadway musical Chicago to appear in concert in Broadway to Blues at 54 Below, 254 West 54th Street. Directed by Leslie Dockery, Broadway to Blues features Shelton Becton on piano and as musical director.

Audiences around the world know Carol Woods for her brilliant stage, film, television, concert and nightclub successes. Ms. Woods’ Broadway credits include Chicago, One Mo Time, the 2001 revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Follies, Smokey Joe’s Café, the Tommy Tune directed Stepping Out, Neil Simon’s The Goodbye Girl. Grind, Big River The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas, and the hit revival of “Blues In The Night,” which ran in San Francisco’s Post Street Theatre and many more.

Carol Woods’ movie and television career includes the 2005 Paramount Pictures release of The Honeymooners, Woody Allen’s Sweet and Lowdown, Eddie Murphy Raw, Night And The City, Stepping Out (opposite Liza Minnelli) and Copland. Woods, who performed at last year’s Grammy Awards, also appeared in the recent feature films “Across The Universe,” directed by Julie Taymor and “Steam.” Carol’s numerous television roles include guest appearances on “The Practice,” “Third Watch,” “Law & Order,” and as a series regular on “The Parent Hood.”

Carol’s nightclub and cabaret performances span the globe-from London to Tokyo, from Las Vegas to Honolulu. In New York, she has appeared at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops, The Village Gate, B. Smith’s, Rainbow and Stars, Michael’s Pub and Town Hall.
