Cabaret Cares/Help Is On The Way Today will hold its annual fundraising Gala on Sunday, May 17th, at Metropolitan Room in the fashionable Flatiron District at 34 West 22nd Street (between 5th and 6th Avenues). Help Is On The Way Today is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 2005 by MAC AWARD winning producer, Joseph Macchia, to assist children and youth living with HIV and AIDS.

Tickets to the Gala are currently available at the advance purchase price of $100.00 through April 30th at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/1382660 or by calling: 718-672-6714. After April 30th the ticket price is $125.00. The Gala ticket includes a cocktail hour, a delicious buffet dinner, unlimited beer, wine, soda and the special Gala cocktail, a fabulous show with New York's finest Broadway and Cabaret talent, a live auction and a gift bag. Doors open at 5PM, and after mingling and conversation, buffet dinner will be served at 6:00 PM. At 7:30 the live auction begins, with the show and awards presentations beginning at 8:00 PM.

The talent lineup includes: Jim Brochu, Beau Howard, Barbara Malley, Karen Mason, Liz McKendry, Gretchen Reinhagen, Anthony Santelmo Jr., Stacy Sullivan and more to be announced. 2015 MAC Award winner, Tom Gamblin, will host.

This year Help Is On The Way Today will honor superb actress/singer Anita Gillette with The Ruth Kurtzman Lifetime Achievement Award. Performers Gary Lizardo and Ricky Ritzel will each receive a Spirit Award, designated for individuals who have shown unusual support of the charity throughout the previous year. In 2014, two Lifetime Achievement awards were given: one to honor beloved, recently deceased cabaret star, Julie Wilson, and the other to Sidney Myer, hilarious actor/singer and long time manager of the cabarets at Don't Tell Mama. Arsenio Amadis (2013 Mr. Eagle Leather and Founder of Leather Cares) was bestowed the Spirit Award.

Since its founding in 2005, Help Is On The Way Today has raised over $100,000 and assisted more than 700 children in need. Fundraising is undertaken primarily through monthly performances by many of New York's finest nightclub and theater performers, and supports annual Backpack and School Supply Drive, scholarships for summer camp and an annual Holiday Toy and Gift Drive. The charity also helps families and organizations with special and immediate needs. Help Is On The Way Today is currently working on a new mentoring initiative.
