Ariana DeBose, Hannah Elless, Jason Tam & More to Say Farewell to Daniel Mate with Don't Tell Mama Concerts, Beginning Tonight

A wide array of the finest musical theatre talent will join acclaimed composer-lyricist Daniel Maté for three goodbye concerts at Don't Tell Mama this week, as he bids New York a fond farewell before relocating to the West Coast after ten years in NYC. Each concert will feature a diverse and unique set of Maté originals and cover tunes along with a different group of special musical guests. Max Friedman produces.

Showtimes are: Tuesday, December 9 at 7pm; Friday, December 12 at 9:15pm; Sunday, December 14 at 7pm. There is a $10 cover charge plus a two-drink minimum, and can be reserved by phone at (212) 757-0788 or online at www.donttellmamanyc.com/shows.

For the December 9th show, Maté will be joined by Farah Alvin (I Love You Because), Donna Lynne Champlin (Sweeney Todd), Ariana DeBose (Hamilton), Jeremy Morse (The Underclassman), Jason "SweetTooth" Williams (Bloodsong of Love), and the Hip Hop Karaoke NYC All-Stars. Maté's longstanding collaborations with composer Will Aronson (The Trouble With Doug) will also be featured.

The December 12th show will feature Liz Lark Brown, Victoria Huston-Elem, Max Friedman, Grace McLean (Bedbugs!!!), and Noah Zachary. The concert will include musical contributions from Fred Lassen, Charlie Rosen, and Jeff Roberts.

The December 14th show will feature Hannah Elless (Bright Star), Shannon O' Boyle (Once), Will Roland, Bob Stillman (Grey Gardens), and Jason Tam (If/Then). The band will be comprised of Fred Lassen, Justin Goldner, and Hiroyuki Matsuura.

Daniel Maté received the 2013 Kleban Prize for Musical Theatre Lyrics, the Cole Porter Award for Excellence in Music and Lyrics from the ASCAP Foundation, and a Jonathan Larson Foundation Grant for Music and Lyrics. His works include the song cycle The Longing and the Short of It (five Carbonell Award nominations), Middle School Mysteries, The Story of Jo-Beth, and, with composer Will Aronson, The Trouble With Doug and Hansel & Gretl & Heidi & Günter.
