truTV Orders Sixth Season of Top-Rated Series IMPRACTICAL JOKERS

Deadline reports that truTV has renewed its top-rated series IMPRACTICAL JOKERS for a 26-episode sixth season, scheduled to premiere in 2017.

The news was announced on Thursday night at San Diego Comic-Con. The show's fifth season premiere on July 14 ranked as the No. 1 series in its time slot in live+3 among adults 18-34, adults 18-49, men 18-34, and men 18-49, according to Nielsen. IMPRACTICAL JOKERS also boasts 3.6 million followers and 163 million total impressions in the first half of 2016.

About the show: Ever since they were in high school together, the four friends at the center of IMPRACTICAL JOKERS have challenged one another to do ridiculous things in public. Now all grown up, they are capturing their extreme dares on hidden camera, complete with unsuspecting strangers' amused, confused, or flabbergasted reactions.

After completing each dare, the guys are given a thumbs-up or a thumbs-down to determine who succeeded under pressure and who collapsed in defeat. Then at the end of each episode, the one with the most fails must face a mortifying punishment with truly humiliating consequences.

In addition to their extensive touring dates as the comedy troupe The Tenderloins, the guys will be embarking on a previously announced cruise with their fans in January 2016.
