ESPN today announced the launch of WatchESPN, now available on Windows 8. Beginning today, users who receive ESPN's linear networks as part of an affiliated video subscription will be able to access ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN3, ESPN Deportes and ESPNEWS through WatchESPN on Windows 8 devices. ESPN Goal Line and ESPN Buzzer Beater will also be accessible when those channels are in season. Additionally, the WatchESPN app for Windows 8 includes an on-demand video offering that features the most recent and relevant content available to all users.
"ESPN's relationship with Microsoft continues to create unique experiences for sports fans across platforms, and the WatchESPN app on Windows 8 is the latest launch from our collaboration," said Raphael Poplock, Vice President of Games and Partnerships, ESPN. "Additionally, extending the reach of WatchESPN to a growing platform falls in line with our goal to serve fans wherever they consume content." The free app leverages features available on Windows 8 while also offering the same great content that fans have come to expect from WatchESPN, including the ability to pin the app with a Live Tile that displays the top live events on the Start screen, Snap functionality, immediate access to featured live and on-demand content, browse by sport, channel guide, and more. Once users download the WatchESPN app in the Windows Store, they will be prompted to enter their video subscription ID/username and password before accessing live content from WatchESPN.Videos
