TV5Monde USA to Present Crime Dramas, Comedies & More This Spring

This Spring, TV5MONDE USA is kicking off its lineup with a variety of inspirational documentaries, crime dramas and comedies. Coming to viewers in April - Dalida forever - Powerful documentary diving deep into the personal life and musical career of Egyptian-born, Italian singer and actress, Dalida, Families - Comedy starring three-time César award-winning actor Mathieu Amalric as Jérôme Varenne, a French financier fighting to keep his family together after he discovers that his childhood home is being sold; and Two Men in Town - Crime drama starring Golden Globe nominated actor Alain Delon as Gino Strabliggi, a bank robber trying to transform his life for the better. April programming highlights:

Belles familles - (Families) (Comedy, 2015. Film) / Sunday, April 16th at 8:30pm ET /5:30pm PT Three-time César award-winning actor Mathieu Amalric stars as Jérôme Varenne, a French financier who lives and works in Shanghai. When Jérôme discovers that his childhood home is being sold, he decides to return to France to fight for his father's land. Chaos erupts when he discovers that his father is not the man he imagined him to be and has secretly developed a serious relationship with a nurse at his clinic. This comedy also stars César award-winning actors Nicole Garcia, Karin Viard, Guillaume de Tonquédec and André Dussollier.

Deux hommes dans la ville - (Two Men in Town) (Crime, 1976. Film) / Tuesday, April 18th at 8:30pm ET /5:30pm PT Golden Globe nominated actor Alain Delon stars as Gino Strabliggi, a former bank robber who is released from prison after serving 10 years behind bars. As Alain tries to rebuild his life, he is harassed by an old cop from his past. This crime drama also stars Oscar nominated actor Gérard Depardieu and César nominated actor Victor Lanoux.

L'Italien - (The Italian) (Comedy, 2010. Film) / Thursday, April 20th at 8:30pm ET /5:30pm PT César award-winning actor Kad Merad stars as Dino Fabrizzi, a successful Algerian car salesman at one of the top Maserati dealerships in Nice, France. In hopes of landing a senior position at his job, Dino pretends to be Italian in order to gain more customers and to win his boss's favor. Then Dino agrees to celebrate Ramadan with his family despite his attempting to keep his Algerian heritage a secret. This comedy also stars César award-winning actor Guillaume Gallienne.

Voyage en chine - (Journey Through China) (Drama, 2015. Film) / Sunday, April 23rd at 8:35pm ET /5:35pm PT Two-time César award-winning actress Yolande Moreau stars as Liliane, a provincial nurse in her peaceful fifties who is coping with the accidental death of her estranged son. To identify his body, Liliane decides to travel to China, his new home, to say her final goodbye. Trouble stirs when Liliane arrives in China and is unable to understand the local customs and doesn't speak the language.

Dalida pour toujours - (Dalida forever) (Music, 2015. Documentary) / Monday, April 24th at 8:30pm ET /5:30pm PT The life and career of Egyptian-born, Italian singer and actress, Dalida is explored in this musical documentary as she travels on tour from Cairo to Paris. This documentary sheds light on her journey from beauty pageant contender to becoming Dalida - one of the most dynamic multilingual singers of the 20th century.
