The LEDs will be blazing tonight as 20 families begin competing in a first of its kind competition to create the best Christmas light display. "The Great Christmas Light Fight" premieres TONIGHT, (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET/PT), on ABC.
Light It Up! - Between the competing families, more than three million lights were utilized. The families seem to have become experts -- most reported that they had no blown fuses during the creation of their display. Powered By Edison - While LEDs have helped to decrease costs, on average, the featured families' power bills have increased by $425 a month. Blowing Through The Holidays - more than 1,000 holiday blow molds and 150 inflatables will be featured throughout the series. The average time needed for creating one of the displays featured in "The Great Christmas Light Fight" is 600 hours. Naughty or Nice? - While many challenges were faced during the decorating process, imagine the surprise of one family when they discovered that their pet rabbits had chewed through their extension cords! The Off-Season - Almost all of the families featured in the competition have built storage sheds in their yards to house their decorations in the off-season, and most don't have full use of their garages, thanks to additional decorations being stored there.Videos
