The television series The Monkees aired for 2 seasons from 1966–1968. The musical acting quartet was composed of Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, and Peter Tork, and Davy Jones. The Monkees had a number of international hits including "The Monkees", "Last Train to Clarksville", "I'm a Believer", "(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone", "A Little Bit Me, a Little Bit You", "Pleasant Valley Sunday", and "Daydream Believer". In 1967, at the height of "Monkeemania", the Monkees sold more records than the Beatles and Rolling Stones combined. Their albums and singles have sold over 65 million copies worldwide.
Band member Davy Jones died of a heart attack on February 29, 2012. His bandmates will highlight his talents in the show's "multi-media content."
